A Lesson In Thorns (Thornchapel #1) by Sierra Simone {review}

It should surprise no one that A Lesson In Thorns was everything I never knew I always needed. Sierra Simone’s talent is unparalleled and I love this new direction for her work

When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton {review}

“Men go off to war and are lauded heroes for sacrificing their lives for their country, for their dedication and patriotism. But women—why are our ambitions designed to end in marriage and motherhood? If we want something else, if our talents lie elsewhere, why isn’t that dedication equally praised and respected?” This story had as much glitz, glamour, and intrigue as I hoped! We got a glimpse of Beatriz Perez in Next Year In Havana and I immediately wanted to know her story

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid {review}

Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a talented writer who takes her work to a new level with Daisy Jones & The Six, brilliantly capturing a place and time in an utterly distinctive voice.

Fallen Star (Starstruck #2) by Susannah Nix {review}

He doesn’t start off on the right foot with people on set, for some understandable reasons, but it was marvelous to watch him flip the switch and turn on the charm. Grace was a fantastic heroine, well-suited for Scott, even though she wasn’t always sure about him. Grace and Scott don’t discuss what his addiction means for their relationship until very near the end. She doesn’t believe Scott will want anything to do with her once they’re no longer working together every day.
