A career minded blog for women who want to kick butt and have fun doing it
if you told me 5 years ago that having kids would improve my career, I would not have believed you. in fact, 5 years ago, I was working as hard as I could so that I could give myself “permission” to lean back once I had kids
I often find myself feeling overwhelmed by so much to do with such limited time, but there’s one thing that can help counteract feeling bummed out – tracking your progress. * feel more accomplished in general, which impacts your mental state * show your accomplishments to people who care (like your boss) * keep your mind focused and deliberate so how in the world do you fit progress tracking into an already packed schedule? a couple of ways. * measure muscle mass each month, with at least 5% improvement month over month I feel responsibility for measuring my progress and reporting it back to people, so it’s pretty easy to schedule it and then get it done. net / net – take the time to plan out your work, determine what you want to accomplish, and then track your progress on a regular basis.
if you know me, you know that I like to set big, audacious goals that seem daunting. I figured that the best method to getting to creating that high quality was by routinely setting aside time to work on the blog and to write. when you set tiny goals for yourself like writing 10 minutes a day, every day, it seems too easy not to get started. easy things are hard to avoid – giving an excuse not to write for 10 minutes a day doesn’t really fly.
here are my favorite things at the moment: maisonette home + baby: this french inspired online shop is basically me in a nutshell. coconut popsicles: it’s been getting warmer in california and I’m loving a cold treat! light colors: I’m generally a sucker for all things light colored, but even more so in the summer. I’m spending time updating some of our basics around the house to follow this palate: swell bottles: I’m trying to amp up my water intake to make up for hotter weather and less sleep 😉
