A Photo Walk Through Mount Pleasant

I walked along East 8th Avenue to an alley that runs parallel to Main Street half a block to the east. I walked down the alley to East 3rd Avenue and came across all the following Vancouver murals in this small area. There are many more Vancouver murals, these are just the ones I was able to see in the hour I had to walk about. There’s a lot of construction going on in this area as well, so, sadly, several of the murals listed on Mural Festival site no longer .

The brewery can trace its roots there from 768 and an official licence was issued in 1040

Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Visit

I felt it was important and necessary that the teens, who thus far have had nothing more to do with WWII than wear a poppy or read about it in history books, have some visceral understanding of what actually happened here. In April 1945, satellite camps around Dachau were being evacuated to Waarkirchen nearly 60 kilometre away ahead of Allied troops. prisoners’ way of suffering went past into an uncertain destiny, during the last days of war, in April, 1945.
