Long overdue but never too late, I wanted to share this gorgeous destination elopement from last fall when E + K came to Humboldt County for a styled elopement and dinner on the north coast. This sweet couple drove up from Southern California to get married overlooking the ocean at Wedding Rock in the well known Patrick’s Point State Park, where they camp every year. Their stunning rental home in Trinidad had an insane view of the cotton candy sunset and Camel Rock, perfectly complimenting the color palette that I brought to life with Flora They even threw in a complimentary dessert but none was needed as our sweet bride, a self proclaimed baker, made her own wedding cake for the occasion.

They are also familiar with local photography rules for shooting in your area (National/State parks, urban areas, etc)… do they require a permit or are there permits required in order to elope? Aside from knowing locations and local guidelines, they’ll also know the best time of day to venture to your ceremony location in order to capture the best light. Because your friends and family won’t be present, you may also want to consider hiring a videographer to capture moments and audio that you can later share with family and friends (and to look back on for years to come). Before they book, we’ll help them search for a neat location that can also serve as a special dinner location (awesome view, great living room with a fireplace, beautiful garden, etc…).

They made stops in Orick to get some shots with the elk, then on to Fern Canyon for some gorgeous couples portraits, concluding with shots on the beach as the sun was dipping lower… just in time before they needed to head back to The Carter House Inn for their intimate “reception” dinner where they dined on amazing local food and a mini donut spread.
