Prior period financial information included in this Current Report on Form 8-K has been adjusted for the effect of a change in method in accounting for inventory in the Pork segment. For the three and twelve months ended December 31, 2020, net earnings attributable to Seaboard Corporation included other investment income of $125 million and $84 million, respectively. For the three and twelve months ended December 31, 2019, net earnings attributable to Seaboard Corporation included other investment income of $73 million and $225 million, respectively.

The Asociación Salvadoreña de Agencias de Carga y Transitarios (ASAC) recently hosted its annual award ceremony recognizing the country’s best air and maritime transportation service companies. Industry professionals and freight agencies in El Salvador comprised the nominating committee, which selected the firms with the best air and ocean transportation service. Seaboard Marine was named the Best Shipping Line for Export and Import Services between El Salvador and the United States in 2020. The winners were chosen on the basis of excellence in the following categories: reliability, capacity, freight rates, and customer service.

This year, our office in San Pedro Sula purchased and donated 250 small trees that were planted with help from the municipal environmental unit in Honduras. Our staff also donated school supplies to a local grade school in San Pedro Sula and throughout the pandemic, we donated food bags to the Miguel Angel Pavon Community in San Pedro Sula and over 80 families in the Chameleconsito area located in the city of Puerto Cortés. Daisy Pastor, Seaboard Marine Honduras General Manager, said, “I am extremely proud of our employees and all of the solid work they have done in our local communities this year, which was especially challenging given the pandemic. With the assistance of key vendors and one of our gracious customers, we were able to donate and distribute thousands of masks to Honduras citizens, including those living in rural areas, raising awareness on the need to protect oneself from Covid-19.
