Account Manager in our Manassas office, and she has worked with the Acorn team for 15 years! When asked about her favorite aspects of her role, she says that loves developing signage solutions that benefit our clients and help them achieve their goals. The bonds that have been made over the years with Partners, Team Members and Vendors are what make Acorn a family A fun fact about her is that for her daughter’s 6th birthday she wanted to have a rainbow poop themed party, and Tiffany made her a cross-stitched rainbow poop emoji.

Our Dedication to Green Manufacturing

Even before we gained our certification as a B Corporation, our CEO, Beth Gillispie, was searching for products and methods for Acorn to make our manufacturing more sustainable. When we underwent the process of obtaining our certification, we found out that not only were we already meeting the standards they require for sustainability, but we were already one of the most green signage manufacturers in the industry. We have spent extensive time and resources developing eco-friendly processes and products, and when our clients hire us, they can be confident in the fact that we are continually striving towards new levels of environmentalism. Acorn’s President, TJ Daly, explains our mission for environmental and social responsibility by saying, “Being a Certified B Corporation is a good housekeeping seal of approval for sustainability.

The History of the ADA & Its Relevance for Your Business

While these legal actions took place in stages to protect various people groups, they each work to create equal opportunities for people, regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality, disability, or familial status. Some of the laws protecting women and minorities were the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Civil Rights Act of 1968 which amended the Act of 1964. The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 provided federal financial assistance for those with disabilities in federal programs, and in 1975, the Education of Handicapped Children Act was passed to ensure equal access to education for children with disabilities. These Standards outline the current regulations for compliance in physical spaces and signage standards, which is what our team at Acorn uses to create ADA-compliant signage.
