We're already one week down in the One Room Challenge ! If you missed last week, you can catch up on the first week's post here. And here's the design board to give you a refresher of my plans for the space
It's week one of the Spring One Room Challenge which means it's time to tackle the room that's been a catch all since we moved into our house almost a year ago. Here's a tiny shot from Instagram stories of what the stacks looked like:I pulled it together for a decent shot at Christmas but otherwise, the room has been a hot mess. it's an unfinished space I've just been throwing extra stuff in there as we work on other rooms. the fanfigure out wall art situationmake dresser pullsdiy tablefigure out pillow covers for the chairscover louvered doorsstyle shelvesshoot reveal picsScroll through the images below to shop my design board:Make sure and come back next week to see what's been happening over here!
When you're faced with an older house's dated "charm", you have to be very careful with colors you pick. It's pretty light but has a warmer undertone to subtly help with the tone of the floors. We painted the vanity a fun color Sherwin Williams "Moscow Midnight" (sounds like a spy movie). I asked them to print it on an 11x17 piece of paper (it's an 11x14 frame)
AND, I was so excited to be on the front page of House Beautiful's website sharing my tips and tricks for buying secondhand .Woohooo! but here I am with the play by play so that you can make your own DIY faux roman shades for some bare windows in your home! I put the tension rods in the window spaced a lot closer together than I originally expected. Keeping the folded ends together, I pulled the center fold down in between the first and second tension rod making the first pleat.
