Book blog written by a 30 year old who doesn't feel OR look her age. Reads books. Talks about them and the book life. @brokeandbookish on Twitter!
She remembers details of books, she asks me to read certain books by name (a word or two of the title or that describes) and she will sit by herself and “read” and actually say some of the real words on the page that remembers. I think it’s a little over Riley’s head at the moment It’s a cute story about a little boy he just wants spring to come and while he’s waiting he decides to plant a garden..and he waits and he waits for signs of his garden/Spring. It’s about FEELINGS and EMOTIONS and that’s one thing I’m really trying to be teach Riley as best I can early on and letting her feel safe to express those.
but I ALWAYS looked forward to Easter — Easter egg hunts, trying to find our Easter baskets in the morning, JELLY BEANS and BOOKS! I’ve started brainstorming good, creative ideas for books for Easter baskets (mostly for toddlers) & some book themed Easter baskets to go along with them for this year now that she’s older! Obviously ANY book belongs in an Easter basket but, for me, I see myself gravitating towards Easter/Spring themed books in Riley’s Easter baskets. Hope I’ve given you some quick inspiration for books for Easter baskets + some fun themed Easter basket ideas!
(FIND IT: Amazon // Barnes & Noble) Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid This book is definitely a bit different than her older works and I LOVED IT (Amazon // Barnes & Noble) This one of the best books I have read in a long time! ! ! Check out this list of books for adults to read in 2019 or this list of book to movie adaptations in 2019!
If We Were Having Coffee and I decided to take her lead and do one myself in November 2013 because I loved it and sometimes I feel like we forget that there is a whole life behind the people that write and read blogs. If we were having coffee….I’d tell you I’m reading Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I feel like I’m failing and dropping all the balls in all the other areas of life I’m juggling. I feel like it’s hard to balance being honest where I’m really at mentally and in life vs being “too negative” on social media.
