The Ultimate Girls Weekend

They have an amazing pool, three restaurants (there’s nothing better than ordering cocktails and tacos poolside) and an Exhale Spa (I highly recommend their Glam & Go blowout before you hit the town). For the non-breakfast meals, we loved Havana 1957 (how can you go to Miami and not eat Cuban? ), Naked Taco (an inexpensive taco place, perfect for drinking and eating and more drinking), DIRT (I promise it’s not dirty but a really cool vegan/vegetarian spot) and my all-time favorite, Joe’s Stone Crab, although a bit pricier, I’d be lying if I said we didn’t hang out at the hotel bar an embarrassingly large amount of time (did you not read about the Lure Happy Hour above? ), but we also ventured out quite a bit. We had dinner at Wynwood Kitchen (an awesome spot right next to Wynwood Walls with healthy small plates, highly recommend the burrata), checked out the murals at Wynwood Walls and stopped by (an outdoor area with a bar, food trucks and live music).

What Sustainability Means to Me

When I buy coffee, I look for beans that are shade grown or bird friendly, as it means that the coffee farm isn’t cutting down trees to make more room for coffee plants. This might be a term I made up, but, for me, part of living a sustainable lifestyle means living a life that supports local communities and economies. When I’m traveling, I support locals by going on local-run tours and activities (that are environmentally friendly, of course), staying at boutique hotels and shopping at places where the goods are locally made. No matter where I am, I try to support the local community with my dollars (and voice), therefore empowering local entrepreneurs, protecting their environments and valuing their culture.

Beyond My Wildest Dreams

Beyond My Wildest Dreams - Two Weeks in Tanzania Despite one of the worst travel days of my life (including two flight cancellations, two flight delays, four rebookings, a four hour drive to JFK at 3am and lost luggage), my recent trip to Tanzania was one of the most amazing travel experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re planning on having any larger purchases once you’re there (including hotel stays), I’d recommend having cash on hand to cover it as that 5% can quickly add up. The Yellow Fever vaccine is REQUIRED when entering Tanzania from a country that has a risk of Yellow Fever (such as Ethiopia), so make sure you consult your doctor and the CDC website prior to your trip to make sure you’re prepared for your trip. I’d recommend staying at either Olea Africana Lodge or, if you’re able to splurge, the Arusha Coffee Lodge.

10 Tips to Hit 10K on Instagram

Use all the tags Hashtags, geotags and people tags are a great way to get your photos featured and discovered by new followers. Tag feature accounts that align with the photo and use a similar aesthetic (for example, @sheisnotlost features light and airy travel photos and likely wouldn’t repost something that is dark and moody). If you’re a small account, be more specific with your geotags (for example, Cabina Bali vs Bali, Indonesia) as there is less competition and you’re more likely to trend for something more specific. Whether it’s a comment/like pod, Facebook group, or curated group of friends you’ve made through the platform, having a group of people to turn to when times get tough makes things a lot easier.
