First stop was our check in at The Stanton Hotel, an absolutely charming boutique hotel on Ocean Ave right on the beach. So my mission for this trip was to take David to all of my favorite Cuban food places in the city since we don’t really get that authentic Cuban in New York (except for my fave, Victor’s Cafe). Our room had a perfect view of Collins Ave and was just two blocks from The Bazaar by Jose Andres, one of our favorite dining experiences of the trip! It’s taken me a good 7 years (I first moved to the city in 2011) to nail down how to NOT UTTERLY HATE LIFE during the winter season *gasp* started appreciating the season and everything it has to bring, including the snow. As a born and raised Floridian, this seems ludicrous. But without further ado, these are my season must-haves aka everything you need to make sure you have a warm, dry, cozy and stress-free winter.
We packed our bags and headed to the resort for a weekend filled with relaxation by the bluest waters I’ve ever seen, gambling and eating Bahamian food! Most of the suites at RWB are waterfront, so even when you’re in your suite you feel like you’re in another world. During our time on the beach, we also got to watch the Driftwood Festival activities from our daybed, drink champagne all day and dance (the DJ was on point). I flew directly from Newark to Bimini with Elite Airways, and if you’re located in South Florida it’s even easier.
It was quite the experience, from the many falls to the immense amount of snow that covered VT (never seen that much snow before, and it was incredible). If you’re looking to visit Vermont anytime soon, these are the best spots in town. From the AirBnB, it’s a pretty easy ride over to Manchester where we checked out the outlet shopping and picked up some cute things at the Ralph Lauren and Kate Spade outlets. Picked up a cashmere scarf for $24, some Harney & Sons tea and some amazing maple candy (insert Ross and Chandler reference here) at the cutest shop, Above All Vermont.
