I've been taking Indio to Kid Row for a few months and have been so impressed with how talented all of the kids are! Cameron Jordan and I asked Kid Row if we could spend an afternoon with (one of their bands)..... Kid Row students are put into bands in the showcase rooms at Bedrock Rehearsal Studios in Silver Lake, and taught the songs that they love, coupled with rock ‘n’ roll classics. During her tenure in Austin, Jordan became a prolific member of the local art community and had paintings, photographs, and sculptural installations displayed in the Austin Museum of Art, Austin Galleries, and various other local businesses.
After being introduced to the Los Angeles-based brand that makes one-of-a-kind jackets, we can now have a peek at the 2017 fall/winter offerings from Hey Babe! Shot within the tranquility of a forest by Lance Dawes, the lookbook features some cool new pieces and designs that you can pick up for your child as they head back to school. This is clearly evident with the post-punk berets and peace pin tank tops that are available to compliment the jackets. The outerwear itself is impressive with the brand’s use of embroidered badges, this time including fashionable influences such as Yves Saint Laurent and Comme des Garçons.
Using tastefully picked pins and badges inspired by streetwear, skateboarding and childhood obsessions, Hey Babe! mixes cool logos to create some awesome denim jackets. Other influences in the past have included Thrasher magazine’s flaming logo, references to rock bands, which has been a recent trend in general, as well as other cool animals that kids love. The jackets on offer start at $95 USD whilst a bespoke design would set you back $165 USD. Hey Babe! is available at The Hammer Museum Gift Shop in Los Angeles.
