Beyond the Point

If you have been teeming for a novel to escape into this summer, then look no further, because Beyond the Point by Claire Gibson is exactly what you are looking for-and so so much more. What I didn’t realize is how much I was going to fall in love with each one of the characters in the book, and connect with the soulfulness of each storyline. Dani and Avery are on the basketball team, but Dani has some medical issues and needs to drop out. Meanwhile, Hannah finds the love of her life, choosing to live the ways of the Army with her fiancé by her side, literally and figuratively, as they each get deployed at different times.

Five Unforgivable Things

That’s when they decided to try IVF, and finally got pregnant again. Natalie and her siblings must now come together to work through the different areas of their lives that they’ve found unforgivable, especially when it comes to their mother and father, who is no longer with them. At more than 500 pages, I felt like I was going to have a hard time reading this book, but truthfully, it went by so fast, and the stories were grabbing my attention left and right. The book was wonderful, I may have shed a tear or two throughout the book, but don’t judge because so will you.

Poster Boy

From the stunning cover to the intriguing synopsis, I knew I was going to love this book! Well, that’s the reality for this new England, and it’s run by a new-world pseudo Hitler, Jeremy Cole, who wants a xenophobic, altruistic land. brother accidentally saves the prime ministers life, and even though that wasn’t his intention, Rosa plans to avenge his death. First of all, the book’s first chapter is a sneak peek to the end of the book, and then it rewinds to the beginning, which is always a trick that I love!

When the Lights Go Out

Just when she thinks she’s going to be able to start her life over, starting college and getting her own apartment, Jessica finds out that her dreams of beginning college aren’t going to pan out. She took most of her life caring for her mother, and now she has time to do the things that she wants, but she feels guilty at the same time. We get to learn about some things in Eden’s past that may have an affect on Jessica to this day, and it’s interesting to see how someone can make a rash decision, only for it to ruin a life twenty years in the future. I really do like Mary Kubica, but I felt like this was a run of the mill type of thriller.
