12 Reasons Why I Love Living in New England

Growing up in Connecticut, I spent summers on Long Island Sound and in New Hampshire. In the winters, we’d drive up to Vermont to ski and when the ground thawed in the spring, we’d visit nearby cities

Stocking Up For Holiday Entertaining at Wegmans

December is here, yay! And you can bet that when I head to the grocery store, I’m going to make a list and check it twice 🙂 This past week, after hearing all about Wegmans Food Markets for the past few years from my New Yorker friends (seriously, I think Wegmans has a legit cult following), I decided to make my way out to the closest one to me in Natick, MA. When I first got there and parked in the attached parking garage, I walked through their heated, covered walkway that brought me straight to the store (ooh la la!)

YOUR GUIDE TO A RHODE ISLAND ROAD TRIP

But, while I’d love to hang out at Gilded all day & night, once Jeff finally made it into town, we walked down to Bowen’s Wharf for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, the Clarke Cooke House. Jeff and I actually got married across the street from the Ocean House at the Watch Hill Chapel, so I always love love love coming back to the little seaside village. Of course, food coma immediately ensued, and we knew it was time to head back to Newport to catch some z’s before our final day in Rhode Island. Sunday was our last day in Rhode Island and before driving back north to Providence, Jeff and I walked back into town to grab coffee at the Coffee Grinder.

Big Dog’s Top 5 – Martha’s Vineyard

Robbin and I go for breakfast here every time we hit Martha’s Vineyard. The main restaurant is right on the beach in Vineyard Haven, really good breakfast menu. Cash only fresh donut spot located in the parking lot behind M. V. Gourmet Café & Bakery (hence backdoor) in Oak Bluffs. Spent the drive back to Oak Bluffs explaining to Robbin why it would be bad to buy an alpaca for our backyard.
