an ode to the mothers in my life ✨ staged shots~ 🌻 a photo of my mother. a photo commemorating our mother’s day tattoos three years ago + the tattoo itself—three hearts for me, molly and mom. the “love ba” tattoo [my mom has a matching one that reads “love, mom”] + the necklace, a nod to each of my grandmothers. one gone from the earth for sixteen years now and one still earthside, but lacking any memory of my existence. hug the mothers in your life becuase the years just keep on coming, and life doesn’t slow down for anyone. and then some fun memories .. 🌹💛 hope you all had a beautiful day today. happy mother’s day to all the mother figures out there. xx and enjoy the photos from the past 🙈 i don’t share personal stuff like that much but these pictures hold special spots in my heart ♥︎

a letter to my younger self — please don’t waste so much time staring at yourself in the mirror and hating what you see. you’re just beginning to grow into your body. one day you will look in the mirror and long for that thick hair you’ll try so desperately to tame. you’ll learn to appreciate those waves and curls you want so badly to straighten. you’ll come to appreciate your big teeth, the ones your siblings called you “beaver teeth” over [and yes, you will laugh about this one day]. you’ll learn to love the dark circles under your eyes. i wish i could tell you they go away, but they don’t. you’ll spend some time learning makeup tricks to cover them up, but you’ll eventually learn to love your face just the way it is, and the desire to hide them every day will fade. that’s almost unbelieveable, huh? don’t worry that you can’t do eyeliner correctly. i know it looks like a thick black line but i promise you, you’ll learn makeup. don’t worry about it now. go outside. enjoy your friends. enjoy life before smart phones steal everyone’s attention. enjoy myspace, and coding websites, and spending your summer days hiding in the basement playing horseland. stop worrying about boys, you will one day find yourself waking up next to someone who changes your whole world in the best way. hold bandit and love him hard because he won’t live forever [spoiler alert, you’ll hold him in his last moments and it will hurt like hell but you will be okay]. you will come to love two beautiful fur babies as your own and you’ll find a bond like no other within them. oh, and that kodak camera you love so much, the one you accidentally kicked out of the car and broke? don’t worry about that, either. one day you will own your dream camera setup. you will become a graphic designer. you will do the things you want to do so badly. so don’t worry about the future yet. enjoy the now.

↠ i’ve been spending my time kneeling in the dirt, laying in the grass and looking up into the trees. meandering through the forest slowly, eyes carefully scanning all the tiniest of details. searching for moments to capture forever in time. it takes me back to when i started my digital photography journey. the days i would pack my bags, hop on my bike and ride to the park to shoot. then i’d rush home to edit the photos and post them on deviantART. i guess not too much has changed, truly. just some of the minor details ☻

a snap from this morning’s desk situation. ♥︎ surrounded by my favorite books, coffee mugs filled with pens, a bright colorful tapestry and burning candles, just to name a few things. my desk is always in a state of organized chaos, as is a lot of my life. ☻ oh, and ps: burning some candles while you sip your morning coffee [or tea] while writing out your to-do list for the coming hours is a wonderful way to start the day. stay cozy, dear friends. 🕯🌧🧦☕️

♥︎ cold, rainy mornings that feel like fall. there’s just something about them. i posted this photo among others a couple days ago but decided it needed its own square now 🕯. i’m finding myself torn between loving these cold mornings and craving the sunshine and warmth of spring and summer ahead—how about you? what’s the weather like where you are? are you never satisfied with the weather like me? ☻

more time at home has meant being able to pick up my camera a bit more often, and now that it’s slowly becoming warmer and the world is coming back to life outside, i’m getting the chance to really work with my new lens more. it’s been so nice to escape into my favorite hobby 💫✨
