Sunday morning, we arrived at 5:30 am to have surgery. God was certainly in control of my circumstances and He must have a reason. He was very apologetic about how things happened and then the good news came: He was doing my surgery the next day. Pre-surgery testing will start 3 hours prior to surgery.

My surgery will be tomorrow morning, I feel so relieved that the first step to recovery will finally happen. After reading about it, I know that this type of surgery (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation) is usually done on 65 year olds and older. My bones are probably already there, even though I’m a young 56 year old, Gotta go with some humor here. The EMT’s couldn’t bring the stretcher in, so they made me stand up. It took her a couple of tries before she could give me a nausea drug and morphine, This didn’t stop all the pain, but definitely helped. After what was to occur in the next few hours, I don’t think I could have stood all the pain without these doses. Even on a good day, I can’t sit in a straight chair more than a few minutes.
