Did you know there are 38,800 children under age 6 who live in families where all available parents are in the workforce? Someone other than a parent is caring for those children
Using books as conversation starters with your child is a great way to tackle some of the more difficult questions your little one comes up with. One trick is to use someone else – like a character in a book – and their experience to create emotional distance or space from the topic at hand. The point is that for every difficult topic you and your daughter face, we bet that there is a great book just waiting to be discovered to help you talk about it, together.
