For the first time, Siegfried Youth Leadership Program® (SYLP), a collaborative effort between The Siegfried Group, LLP (Siegfried), the University of Delaware’s Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship (CEEE), and Junior Achievement of Delaware, offered a virtual version of its biannual event for students and teachers. Kevin Keegan, Amy Devlin, and Brendah Walyemwa, leadership team members from Siegfried, also hosted sessions, asking students to think deeply about character ethic and embrace the power of their mindset. Since this was the first virtual SYLP, the team hosted a session for teachers to walk through the program, give them a personal experience with leadership advisory, and discuss how to keep the leadership theme strong in the classroom. In 2016, Rob Siegfried, founder and CEO of Siegfried, expanded this reach and created SYLP to help students in grades 8 – 12 develop the leadership qualities they need to have a successful future.
Our CEO and Founder, Rob Siegfried, was recently a guest on John Eades’ popular leadership podcast, Follow My Lead. In the show, Rob and John cover the role a leader plays in the growth of an organization; why being a purpose-driven organization matters; why work-life synergy is the new model for balance; how to invest in the whole person instead of just the professional; and how to measure success. Financial Executives International (FEI) recently held its 39th annual Current Financial Reporting Insights Conference (CFRI). This year’s virtual conference featured discussions and presentations on trending accounting topics, regulatory updates, the evolving and disruptive role of technology in the profession, and leadership lessons. To thoughtfully and succinctly present this important material, representatives from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Public Company Auditing Oversight Board (PCAOB) joined panelists from SEC registrants, regulators, and public accounting firms. A sponsor of the event for several years, Siegfried attends and summarizes some of the most compelling sessions and biggest takeaways in one report!
