I was in a situation where I needed a long-ish term car rental, and the main car companies wanted to charge me over $1,700 for just over three weeks with a waived under-25 surcharge!
Even after paying for the Basic level insurance with Turo ($3,000 deductible), I was able to have a car to drive for the few weeks I needed it for about $700.
Had I rented with Hertz or Avis, the primary car rental insurance coverage from my Chase Sapphire Preferred Card would have kicked in, but even after considering that I was better off renting from Turo!
Overall, I had a pretty good first experience renting with Turo and will likely be renting through them again when the cost of renting with the “real” car rental companies is too high.
