I usually don’t like to say anything negative about previous work, but it’s no secret to anyone who follows my work that I wasn’t happy with the earlier coauthored feminist book I was involved with. That’s why it’s so important to build your own relationship with your work that isn’t based on sales status or reviews. In I made a choice to acknowledge key work I was aware of and to focus on positive attributes of people’s work, including those who have ignored or critiqued my work. It’s really the most fun to write and it’s a nice contrast to the business side of my work as a series editor.
