Exploring mountains near Playitas on Fuerteventura is an absolute must for all nature lovers! The trails offer just the right amount of challenge, and the breathtaking views are simply unparalleled. πŸŒ„ While my sports hotel had a plethora of activities, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the nearby mountains for a hike. 🏞️ However, note to self: even on cloudy days, sun protection is a must. πŸ˜… Learned that the funny way with a lopsided sunburn!

In our next trip πŸ– we went to the next Canarie island Fuerteventura exploring the breathtaking landscapes πŸ” and stayed at a small place called Playitas nestled amidst majestic mountains. Playitas is probably most famous for those who are gearing up for Tour de France and other 🚲 cycling marvels, because this place boasts an array of exhilarating cycling paths. It has a sports hotel with the same name Playitas Resort @playitasresort which not only houses a hotel but also features an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a spectrum of other sport engagements. It even has its own golf court. A great start point for our trip. ❇️ Don't forget to save this post to reference later if you like sports and/or planning to visit Fuerteventura!

Best view over the island is from Pico de las Nievas ❀️⛰️

There's a lot to see and do in Gran Canaria. Whether you prefer the rustic feel of an old rock hotel ⛰️ or enjoy some time outside by pool, there are plenty great options for every traveler. Gran Canaria is a land of opportunity for those looking to discover 🌞 the best that this region has to offer. There are many great hotels in both rock formations and above them, making it possible for visitors from all over the world to taste their adventure here at its finest.

Basking in the sun and enjoying the stunning views from the breezing top of Pico de las Nieves 🌞 The view from Pico de las Nieves (1949 meters), which means β€œSnow Peak,” is the second highest summit in Gran Canaria and easily accessible by car or foot. The military base makes it difficult for visitors access but if you go up there they have an awesome south facing viewpoint! Hiking to the top of Pico de las Nieves is a great way for visitors who want an adventure without having too far away hike. The view from this mountain summit provides unparalleled scenery that you won't find anywhere else in Gran Canaria, so it's worth taking time out just go see what all these mountains have been hiding.

Gran Canaria has a sub tropical 🏝 climate with hot summers and very mild winters usually with year round sunshine. For the highest temperatures the best time to visit Gran Canaria is between July and September although the sub tropical climate offers sunshine throughout the year and winter months are equally popular with visitors. The hottest month of the year is August with an average daily maximum of 29 C and an average low of 23 C. The coolest month of the year is February with an average daily maximum of 21 C and an average low of 16 C.

San Agustin - Gran Canaria is the first tourist city that you come across when leaving the airport ✈️ and heading south on the old main road. The pricey and large villas with a fantastic view are located on the plateau to the right of the main road. Many pensioners from Sweden πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ reside in San Agustin during the winter or all year long, thereby giving San Agustin a Scandinavian touch. One of the cool things is a πŸŒ‹ black sand on the beach.

The sunsets πŸŒ… over Meloneras in Gran Canaria were the most beautiful we have seen and enjoyed every day. I heard from people that Santorini has the most beautiful sunsets, but from experience I will say that this is not true.
