Normally it's such a happy card, a card of friendship and inspiration and support, a card about getting drunk with your girl friends and coming up with new ideas for things. While I went to the racks of big, blocky, tent like items, she would put in my dressing room dresses with waists, skirts with above the knee hemlines, light jackets that didn't add several inches to my diameter, sleeves that were not several inches longer than my arm, so I could pull them down over my hands. Groups of friends would come in and dare each other to try on certain dresses, and those girls would blush wildly when they realized actually, their friends were right, they looked killer in that tiny skirt. Until I wrote a piece, wherein I suggested that maybe being single wasn't simply a pre-getting married phase, that there was great value living a life outside of men's influence, that women maybe lost something once they entered a couple.
