It’s so tempting to stay in with takeout and Netflix and call it a “date night”, but there’s something exciting and special about getting dressed up and making it official.

To be completely transparent: I contemplated long and hard after buying this dress as to whether or not I wanted to keep it. I love it with classic pumps (above), but I also love it as a dress with a belt on top, or as a top with skinny jeans and boots. It’s actually extremely versatile as it can be worn as a dress or a long coat. What I love about the blazer dress is that it adds a professional touch to an outfit, without looking like you stepped straight out of an office.

In fact, Gabi (my amazing photographer & who took these photos) laughs every time I wear them in the outfit because they are now “the jeans! Old Navy c/o  |  Jeans: Le Specs  |  Earrings: Criscara c/o …because let’s be honest — even if a pair of jeans is super cute, if I feel like I’m squeezing out of them I’ll never wear them. We all have that pair of jeans that are comfortable because they are super stretchy, but don’t hug in the right places.
