Things to Do in Fort Myers

It is home to beautiful beaches, fun dining and shopping experiences and Cayo Costa State Park. If you are vacationing in Florida, you will definitely want to get some beach time in. Make sure to pick one up off the beach to take home with you as a free souvenir Once you’ve walked the beautiful seven miles of Fort Myers Beach, you can get on a boat and go over to Cayo Costa State Park. No covered court? No problem! Mindanao school gets creative

These photos taken during the recent graduation ceremony at Binuangan Central Elementary School in Binuangan, Misamis Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines truly show just how creative, practical and, quite frankly, tolerant we can be. Creative because, as you can see, they used umbrellas and covered seats instead of letting the graduates suffer under the searing heat of the sun. Apparently, this happened because the school didn’t have a covered court (where graduation ceremonies in many public schools are usually held). The potted plants along the “path” where the graduates, guests and school officials were supposed to walk on also added a nice little touch.

Their vision is to ensure the nation’s water, food human security by reforesting the mountain ranges of Mindanao, home to the country’s last watersheds. Hineleban Foundation together with Globe, have partnered in this enormous task by entering into a Sacred Customary Compact with the IP’s and a Peace and Development role with the Bangsamoro People, agreeing to join efforts by identifying steps to fulfill this dream. Globe and Hineleban Foundation’s partnership began in December 2016, whose combined efforts are currently reforesting 300 hectares of denuded primary rainforests, a fraction of the 44,000 hectares surveyed and targeted by Hineleban Foundation in Bukidnon and Lanao del Sur. Hineleban Foundation’s reforestation methodology is internationally recognized, having received the Grand Prize Award for best project in the forestry sector, from the Agricultural Research Centre for International Development and the French Development Agency in 2015.

LOOK: DAISO New York Now Open

Daiso, known for its very wide selection of products at extremely low prices, has opened its doors in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area and I got invited to their grand opening! I also got to meet Mr. Yoshihidae Murata, Senior Vice President of Daiso US Operations, who said that they’re confident that “New York residents will be delighted by the Daiso shopping experience that is beloved by many! Here in New York, their Daiso Flushing store, located at The Shops at Skyview Center, sells quality and oh-so-kawaii products for $1.99. By the way, Mr. Murata said that while he’s still not at liberty to say where they’re opening a Daiso store next, he said that the Daiso New York one is definitely just the first for the East Coast!
