Therefore, it’s important for me to create the images my clients have chosen me for and still include an element of originality every time. The way I keep that balance is to focus on patience, confidence, good preparation, and enough flexibility to stay creative and original for each session. It’s is how I’m able to create unique images for my clients that showcase their child’s personality and mannerisms. Going with the flow allows parents to enjoy the process without getting frustrated or disappointed if things don’t go to plan.
Newborn mini sessions are such a great option for families who have a tight budget or if mom and dad are The most common reasons for skipping a newborn session are a tight budget, being sleep-deprived, mom still has some baby weight or mom and dad just plain forget until their baby is already weeks old. They are often forgotten but even in my mini sessions I make a point of recording the smallest or details for parents to look back on years from now. Another perspective I try to incorporate in my newborn mini sessions is parents’ hands.
When you book a newborn photoshoot, should you have a say about the colours, props, and textures the photographer will use? I recommend you pick a newborn photographer who’s style you really like and then let them do their magic. I usually have a few neutral sets ready to go for efficiency but once I get started I actually encourage my clients to peruse my headbands, bonnets, and fluffy textures because some photographers will let their clients guide the session design (as I did in this almost all-white session) and some photographers have a very clear vision of what they want to create and get paid the big bucks to do what they do the way they do it
Including first dibs on the 2020 Fall family mini sessions. Fall mini sessions are booked on select evenings and weekends from mid- September to late October. Once we’ve chosen all our available dates and locations we send out an email to all our current clients. Our family mini photoshoot takes 30 to 45 minutes at one of three gorgeous outdoor spots in Saanich.
