The Gulf of Papagayo is one of the most popular beach destinations in Costa Rica thanks to the plethora of gorgeous beaches, excellent fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving and high end hotels. Additionally, it is very close to Liberia International Airport so you can go from touchdown to happy hour on the beach in less than an hour! If you’re planning to visit Playas del Coco, Ocotal, Hermosa, Panama or any of the resorts on the Papagayo Peninsula, luckily your trip is not too hard to plan in terms of transportation
One of the most beautiful beaches in the South Pacific of Costa Rica has the most appropriate name: Playa Hermosa (which translates to beautiful beach in Spanish). With dark sand, blue- grey waters and a lush jungle backdrop, this beach is a special one to see for visitors
Bus: There is no direct bus to Herradura but you can take the bus from San Jose to Jaco and it stops at Plaza Herradura along the way. Herrdura beach has dark sand and doesn’t stretch too long, making it incredibly picturesque and a wonderful representation of Central and South Pacific beachs in Costa Rica. If you have a car, you can visit Jaco to go surfing, Playa Blanca (white sand beach by Punta Leona resort), Carara National Park, Bijagual waterfalls and Manuel Antonio National Park. The Los Sueño Resort is a top resort in Costa Rica with over 1100 acres (445 hectares), their own rainforest reserve, world renowned golf course, pools and high end restaurants.
We have met quite a few people who are in Costa Rica for a few months of the year with their dogs and want more information traveling with their dog in Costa Rica. We found out he has an addiction to running, he absolutely loves it and I have never seen another dog love running like him!
