With Zanskar, things are different, as a lot of people want to do the Chadar Trek, also known as the Zanskar river trek because you walk along the frozen Zanskar river. We were also a bit apprehensive about going for a Zanskar Valley trek. I wanted so much to stay with her longer, but at the same time, I also wanted to continue our trek. We finally decided to forget about the trek and just spend time with Garskit and her family and return with her to Padum after a couple of days.
Most people start with Mount Everest Base Camp trek, the Annapurna Circuit trek or the Annapurna Base Camp trek (both starting from Pokhara). It’s more like a lodge, and a lot of teahouse owners have added the word lodge to the name of their teahouse to make sure that travelers understand that they also provide rooms. We spent almost seven weeks is various homestays during our treks, which included the Tamang area, the Langtang and Gosaikunda trek, the Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek, and the Gokyo Lakes trek. The Project Tiger started by the Indian government back in 1973 is an excellent example of the magnificent Indian tiger conservation programme. Of course, I would love to see more wildlife tour packages focused on birds and perhaps even increase the Rajasthan tourism by creating more tours that help tourists discover the birds and the wild animals in India.
