Adjust the font as necessary until it looks how you’d like it to look, and then type out the name(s) or custom messages that you’d like to add to the magnets. Copy the shape (Control or Command + C) and paste it (Control or Command + V) for as many magnets as you’d like to make. Cut the custom names, quotes, and messages from glossy white vinyl, and cut the base pieces a second time from adhesive magnet paper. Remove the protective sheet from the Adhesive Magnet Paper, line the cardstock apple up over it, and press in place to adhere the cardstock to the Magnet Paper.
Then go to the Registration marks tab and turn on registration marks by setting the style to Type 1. 2. If you think you will need a wider offset border around your design (it will give you more room around your design when you will sew it to the tote), you can delete the existing offset line and go to the Trace panel. Click “Select Trace Area” and click on the working space near the image, and drag the rectangle around the image. To center the offset line and design, select them both and click the Center tab on the top tool panel of your screen.
This tutorial shows you how to take a sketch design file and use it in a couple of ways, from creating a seamless pattern to turning the sketch file into a die-cut embellishment. Use scissors or a paper slicer to cut a piece of white cardstock into a 5.25 inch-by-10.5-inch rectangle and fold in half so that it becomes a 5.25-inch-by-5.25-inch folded card. Optional step: Cut a 5 inch by 5 inch square from two different colored cardstock and trim each to make two right triangles. On the Send panel, under Action tab, set up your Silhouette machine to recognize the two actions we will use: sketch and cut.
One of the basic things you need to know how to do with the Silhouette Alta® is load the PLA (polylactic acid) filament, or the plastic material, that the Alta uses to print your objects. The Alta can print any PLA filament that is 1.75 millimeters thick. To load the filament in your Alta 3D printer, start by opening Silhouette 3D™, powering on your Alta, and connecting it to your computer. The machine will feed the filament through the inner print tube and heat up the print head.
