Kirsten’s life came to an end in her home, the home she shared with her 31 year old live-in boyfriend, Corey O’Neal Brewer. An intruder didn’t break into the home and take Kirsten’s life, instead, the man she shared a bed with, who should have protected her, took Kirsten’s life. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.1 • 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of [some form of] physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime.1 • 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.1 • It’s unclear if Kirsten knew about Corey’s criminal history, but if she did, she kept it a secret from her family.
This podcast covers murders cases, both solved and unsolved, and includes interviews with family members of the victims. After all, it was one of the first cases I wrote about on this blog, and is by far one of the most popular cases that people come here to read about, and share their opinions. The serial rapist and killer is identified as 72 year old Joseph James DeAngelo of Citrus Heights, CA. It was yours truly who broke the news of the arrest to the world via social media after verifying it with multiple sources; a very satisfying moment for me personally if I do say so myself. But for now, I want to tell you about the celebration of the arrest that I witnessed at the Crimecon true crime convention this past weekend in Nashville. Last June, I had the distinct pleasure of joining victims and survivors of this serial predator, rapist, and murderer, at Crimecon in Indianapolis.
