DWP BBQ has merged with Ferris Wheelers Backyard and BBQ. We will continue to offer our catering services to the DFW metroplex through Ferris Wheelers.
Ferris Wheelers Backyard BBQ will open right around the same time State Fair of Texas kicks off in Dallas. The new Ferris Wheelers in Dallas’ Design District has no affiliation to the fair, but it seems to take inspiration from its Lone Star State love. Ferris wheel in the backyard is fully functional, meaning you can take a spin before or after playing bar games like Jenga, oversized checkers and more on the the 7,000 square-foot patio. The restaurateurs opening Ferris Wheelers operate High Fives and Whipper Snapper, both on Henderson Avenue in Dallas, among other bars.
The barbecue restaurant from Dallas-based This & That Concepts (Parlay, High Fives, Tiny Victories, Whipper Snapper) will open in the Design District later this month. According to the release: “Head pitmaster Doug Pickering is the mastermind behind the delicious menu, which features Texas staples such as brisket, ribs, house-made sausage, honey-brined smoked turkey breast and Carolina-style pork shoulder. The southern-influenced sides include smoked barbecue beans, smoked green beans, barbecue mac & cheese, jalapeño bacon cole slaw, and southwestern potato salad. Specialty bowls include “Norwegian Breakfast” with sweet potato noodles, onions, smoked salmon, and free-range scrambled eggs; “Mexican Breakfast” with sweet potato noodles, black beans, bell peppers, onions, and cage-free breakfast chicken sausage; and “Vegan Breakfast” with quinoa, mushrooms, caramelized onions, roasted tomatoes, and avocado.
