When I first spoke to Sarah Rose Summers, she was nearly halfway through her term as Miss USA 2018 and preparing for the Miss Universe competition in Thailand. Sarah Rose was chatting with Miss Australia and Miss Colombia on an Instagram livestream about how hard it would be to leave your home country, go to another country with 95 other women, and not speak the same language as anyone else. I remember reading the headlines myself, and I remember having chatted with Sarah Rose before this all happened, and for me, it didn’t align with the Sarah Rose I knew. After the headlines came out, Sarah Rose sat down with the two women she was talking about in the livestream, Miss Cambodia and Miss Vietnam.
I stumbled into the natural beauty world after our second miscarriage and it’s changed the way I look at products and made me somewhat of a voice when it comes to more natural solutions in the products that I use. ’s while doing my makeup in the morning lately (mostly since it’s usually the only extra 10 minutes I have in my day) and while I am absolutely no make up artist, I am passionate about finding better products for my world. I am sharing these because I truly love them and while I do get an affiliate commission for some of the products linked below, I have been sharing them sans links through DMs for months upon months whenever someone asks what I use and knew it was silly to miss out when these are the exact products in my makeup bag. The other bit of makeup I use for my brows is the brow pencil and this is perfect for filling in the areas that need it and I LOVE the little eyebrow comb that’s on it to comb through my eyebrows.

She created the lifestyle brand Wit & Delight and what started as a personal project to get to know herself became a resource for her 3.3 million followers to feel less alone in the ups and downs of their journey through life. She shares food, design, and travel, and publishes deeply personal essays to explore her journey through divorce, mental illness, and an undiagnosed learning disability. At 1 AM she sat down to write a post about her “Apartment of Firsts”, a personal post about her divorce, discovering an undiagnosed learning disability, diving into mental illness, and so many more topics that Kate felt she couldn’t keep to herself anymore, hoping that it would land with someone else who needed to hear it. She’d start a podcast (and she’s in the process of launching on now) to continue to cultivate the connection and community that she’s so skilled at creating with her blog.
