March 2019 One Month Project Retrospective • Fake and Basic

One nonnegotiable hour of work = 2 nonnegotiable hours of procrastination I am hesitant to admit this because I’m all about productivity, but sorting through all the photos I’ve ever had was so daunting that it made me feel exhausted just thinking about it. Thus, I turned to a time-management method that I hadn’t used since college: the Pomodoro Technique. The Pomodoro Technique goes something like this: decide on a task that needs to be done, set an alarm for twenty-five minutes, work only on the task (no distractions! ) until the alarm goes off, take a five minute break, and repeat. I was about to open up Instagram and mindlessly scroll when I realized that this was the perfect time to be sorting more photos.

Picture-Perfect Organization: March 2019 One Month Project • Fake and Basic

[1] A non-negotiable hour a day keeps the procrastination away Way back in December, I realized the power of having just one non-negotiable hour a day to work on my project. It’ll be all to easy to focus on getting pictures, ignoring how much everything is continuing to pile up, so I’m explicitly declaring that I will be blocking out an hour a day, every day in March, to focus on organizing pictures only. The hour will be chosen on a day-by-day basis, since I know for a fact that my sleep schedule gets a little messed up while going from place to place. I may have felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of pictures to go through before, but now that I’ve officially declared this to be my March 2019 one month project, I’m actually pretty eager to dive in.
