We need change, but fear-mongering and hate is not going to change anything. While I have lost respect for people on both sides due to their attitudes, I have not lost respect based on who they actually voted for. The one idea that I still believe in, through all of this, is that WE have the power to change. Donald Trump may be the President (elect) of the United States of America, but WE are the change we want to see.

In light of recent events, my social media has been alive with extremely different opinions. I guarantee most of the things said on social media to one another would not be said to their face. I realize the words of a 21-year-old may not change everyone’s actions, but if it can open one or two people’s eyes, we’re already on our way to change. When we stop acting divided just on social media, imagine what could start happening in the real world.
