It’s not very big inside but that certainly did not stop our excitement when we saw the butcher counter across from us and the giant chalkboard next to it. All hell broke loose (aka we ordered a bunch) once we placed our initial order and before we knew it there was a second order in the books. The burgers are ground in house and the beauty that I enjoyed, the Big Bud Burger (8 oz. burger topped with fried Jalapeños, sautéed Mushrooms, Gouda & Cheddar Cheeses on a grilled Brioche Bun) was exactly what I needed.

Last night was our 6th annual and final Hamburger House Party which also featured one of my other events, Wiener Bash. Congratulations to Arbetter Hot Dogs on taking home the 2019 Wiener Bash trophy, PINCHO who won the Judge’s Best Burger and Cackylacky A shout out to our sponsors: Blackstone Products, Downstairs Markets, Hellmann’s Mayonaise, Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls, Miami Culinary Institute, Orion Fuels, Sunshine Provisions, and Magic City Casino And to our judges: Andrew Zurica (Andrew’s Classic Roadside Hamburgers by Hard Times Sundaes), Cari Garcia (Fatgirl Hedonist), Chef Phil Bryant (Johnnie’s Pit Beef & BBQ), Chef Richard Hales (Bird & Bone, Blackbrick Chinese & Sakaya Kitchen) and Starex Smith (The Hungry Black Man) After the event, everyone was invited over to visit the Burger Museum located conveniently at Magic City Casino where Hamburger House Party was held.

The Chili Dog had a bean-less Chili which right off the bat brought a smile to my face. These corn dusted buns aren’t exactly at the top of my favorite buns list but once I set my eyes upon the smashed into oblivion burger I forgot all about it. I’m not a fan of shredded cheese on a burger and wish there had been a full on slice instead. Am I right or is any cheese good cheese on a burger?
