Glitter placement is nothing new, but it’s the first time I’ve tried something quite like this. The good news is it can look amazing as an accent nail as well:I did prefer the final full-on glitter look though! My initial idea when doing these nails was Mermaid nails, but when they were done the colouring made me think more of dragon skin. Well, whether I’m turning into a mermaid or a dragon rider, my nails are going to look on point!

I wanted to show you how it looks over a variety of base colours, so I have used a different base on each nail and then topped them all with Opal Glitter. Starting from my thumb, I used Tip Top Breath of Fresh Air, ILNP Birefringence (H), Tip Top Kingfisher, Essence Roller Coaster, and Tip Top Baby Cheeks. it looks like a simple nude nail but when you look closer it’s lovely and sparkly. I have used Opal Glitter in the past for this jewel-toned nail art, over these pond nails, over these bright 80s nails, for some galaxy nails, and over a delicate gradient.

I wasn’t taking any polish with me so it was the perfect time to use the strips, and to give them a proper wear test. The box shows the pattern (I love stars! ) along with some basic application instructions and promises that the strips will fit all nails, remove with polish remover, and last up to 10 days. Each strip was far longer than I needed though (so it could work for people with longer nails) but I also felt like with a little more practice, if you use these strips a lot you could divide some of the strips in half and so get two full manicures out of one pack. The main reason the strips don’t look great any more is that you can actually see how my nails have grown!
