Magic was certainly in the air when I visited The Ned hotel in the City of London. With its sweeping Victorian green marble columns holding up this historic and characterful building, its restoration has been given a quirky twist by those clever people behind the Soho group to create The Ned Hotel. First impressions are majestic with your eye immediately drawn from the marble floor up past those spectacular jade green columns to the glass domed atrium sat above the raised band stand in the middle of the ground floor. Then the live band starts up and this music fills your ears as you fill your stomachs with the delights of; Millie’s Lounge for British grub, Cecconis for Italian, The Nickel Bar for American, Malibu Kitchen for Californian, Kaia for Pan-Asian, Cafe Sou for Parisien pastries, Lutyen’s Grill for a meat feast and the sensational Zobler’s for the best smoked salmon bagel of my life!
