Grow an abundance! By Grown and Gathered

Start tomato seedlings in a greenhouse in late winter, then plant advanced tomato seedlings in late spring, after the danger of frost has passed. Then simply weave the branches back and forth through the trellis each week as they grow—tomatoes love to climb, but they’re not good at it, so we need to help! One small patch of rocket (60 cm x 60 cm), planted twice a year, is all you need for a constant supply of lush greens year-round. A consistently watered patch that has enough nutrition in the soil will continue to grow from spring through to autumn, through several cuttings, and your second patch from autumn to spring again.

The World's Best Bell Tent? We think so.

From using Bell  Tents as our go-to camping tent for years to then setting up hundreds of tents for events, we like to think we have become a bit of an authority on Bell Tents and know there is a lot more to this classic tent design than just good looks. You soon realise that striving for perfection means compromise and trade offs – for example, the heavier the canvas and hardware, the heavier the tent, and how do we get the performance of modern textiles but with the feel of the classic canvas that we love. Not all Canvas is created equal Canvas is the single biggest expense for tent manufacturing and the quality of canvas varies wildly (check out our Bell Tent Buyers Guide for our recommendations). For The Touring Tent we have used a groundbreaking canvas that we believe to be best of all worlds and, as far as we know, the first for any (Bell? ) tent manufacturer.

Field Report: Traversing The Simpson Desert

over $200 Shop Now Menu Stay in touch with our Newsletter The Simpson desert is the world’s largest sand dune desert and one of Australia’s largest uninhabited regions. Next day we headed along the Oodnadatta track where we met up with the rest of the crew for the first camp at Algebuckina Bridge (apparently Australia’s most photographed outback bridge). Dalhousie Hot Springs is a literal oasis in the outback, with hot water lake (about 40 degrees), wonderful bird life and a fantastic campground  with dingos wandering through camp at all hours. The Simpson can be crossed in a long day’s drive via the busy French Line track, but we wanted to take it easy so we headed south along some of the lesser known tracks for a three day, two night driving adventure.
