We had our Sunday lunch, poolside at the rooftop terrace and it was an astounding dining experience amidst the panoramic views of Ulsoor Lake with amazing food from SLO FOOD Co2 restaurant. I was intrigued to know that SLO Food Co is Bengaluru’s first restaurant to practice the art of slow food, recreating age-old recipes using locally sourced ingredients from local farming communities. The menu is really interesting with dishes that use slow food cooking techniques like sous vide, crack pot, dhum pukht etc to ensure the food is healthy, nutritious and delicious. The star food experience of our stay was the rooftop lunch that we had amidst the beautiful views of the surrounding Ulsoor Lake.
On our way to our room, I realised that while staying at the hotel will give you a feeling of a luxury escape, there are continuous important reminders to take precautionary measures in the new normal. Wearing a mask, sanitising surfaces and maintaining social distancing is the best way to travel in the current times and the ALLSAFE program knows it. Our room was really spacious and comfortable overlooking the pool and the open-air restaurant and had everything that you would need for a staycation starting from a really comfortable bed, a coffee machine, a flat-screen TV, a small fridge. We also experienced the IPL live screening one night at Chez Nous and it was the perfect way to cheer for our favorite IPL team with family.
Located in Kangra, a popular district in Himachal Pradesh in India, Kangra fort is believed to be the oldest dated fort in India. The next gates are the Ahini gate, Jahangiri Gate and Andheri gate. While the three main temples, the Ambika mata temple, Laxmi Narayan temple and a Jain temple are no longer there, there is a simple temple just next to the stairs that is still in use. The last gate is known as Mahal darwaza or Palace gate and opens to the palace courtyard.
And as luck would have it, we were invited by Giggling Squid restaurant during our Windsor trip. We stopped by at the Giggling Squid restaurant on Thames Street in Windsor, for a quick bite. We ordered chicken satay, sticky chicken and Thai chicken wings from the tapas menu along with the house drinks as recommended by the restaurant manager. The restaurant located conveniently close to Windsor Castle and the bus stand for Hop on Hop off Bus Tour for sightseeing in Windsor and Eton.
