SUSTAINABLE FASHION: My Favorite Leopard Print Coat and Capsule Wardrobes

First of all it was deeply discounted at the thrift store, it is second hand which is much easier on the environment than buying new clothes, it’s double breasted, it’s lightweight for crisp but not super cold days and loose fitting almost like a duster coat Thankfully not all devotees of sustainable fashion overlook the importance of versatility and the number of brands that are begging to making it an indispensable element of the design process has been steadily growing over the last 3-5 years. If you prefer to buy mostly second hand (and save a substantial amount of your hard earned dough) I linked to a YouTube video that has some very practical tips by Alli Cherry on how she built and maintains her own capsule wardrobe and some of her thoughts on fast fashion and shopping second hand. 5 Underrated Female Rock Musicians

What a Way to Die by The Pleasure Seekers (This was the first rock band Suzi was in and it  boasted an all female line up which  included her sisters and other female musicians they knew.) In 1977 she helped co-found the The Bags and later moved on to form other bands like Castration Squad (an all female death rock band), another punk band called Cholita! , Never Marry a Railroad Man from their fourth album called Third Album as it was Shocking Blue’s third album with Mariska as the lead vocalist. Brittany Howard, Tina Turner, Robert Plant, Chuck Berry, Noisettes, Mahalia Jackson, The Dixie Hummingbirds, Aretha Franklin, The Rosettes, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Who, Isaac Hayes, Marie Knight, Karen Carpenter, Allison Krauss,  Neil Sedaka, Frank Turner and many many others are also known to have been greatly inspired by her.

OOTD: Green Hawaiian Shirt & Bumper Bangs

This summer Hawaiian shirts were super on trend and I really enjoyed observing how different people styled them. I have been wearing Hawaiian Shirts a lot in the past three years or so and all of them were found at thrift stores for under $8.00 each. Green is one of my favorite colors and can be matched with almost anything and the simple white flower print on this one makes it VERY versatile.
