There are so many frustrating things about this pandemic, and to be honest, I can deal with most of them. There are a few things that really get to me and one of those is not being able to watch my son play soccer. Soccer is such a huge part of who he is and he loves to do it. It's is junior year of high school and RIGHT NOW would be the time that colleges would have a chance to look at him, but how can that happen if there is no season?! Fortunately, his school district put together a modified athletics schedule that starts in February. The Leaning Tower of Pisa was on our bucket list while were were in Italy. It was raining the day we visited but it was still an incredible sight! The Leaning Tower of Pisa leans about 4 degrees due to an unstable foundation but is the 3rd oldest structure in the Cathedral Square in Pisa. After seeing the tower, we stopped for dinner at a cute little restaurant. When in Rome, do as the Romans do...so we did! Pasta-making was of the ways that we immersed ourselves into the Italian culture during our visit. We made ravioli, gnocchi and spaghetti from scratch. Then we sat down and enjoyed a family meal. Sara Pochini was a beautiful hostess and taught us how make an authentic Italian dinner. Then he started a high school that he hasn't actually been to! And just when we thought things were getting better, he broke both of his wrists.
