I Dermaplane my Face, Here’s What You Should Know

But for the past year or so, I have stuck to the one solution that isn’t expensive, painful, or irritating to my skin: dermaplaning. Dermaplaning involves taking a medical grade “blade” and scraping it against the surface of your skin to remove hairs and the top-most layer of your skin. While this may sound super painful, it’s honestly the most pain-free hair removal process I have tried! Several spas and salons offer dermaplaning as a service, however, I prefer my Stacked Skincare Dermaplaning Tool ($75) so I can dermaplane my face whenever I want at no additional cost.

Magic Acne Clearing Light?

Depending on how much time I have, I’ll either use it on my entire face, or only apply the device to sections of my face that are prone to breaking out. Besides the price, one of the more annoying things about this product (as well as with other hand-held blue light devices) is the amount of time it takes to use it. Considering that the device only covers a portion of your face, the total amount of time you are using the device really adds up. Blue Led Light is by no means an instant “cure all” for acne, but in conjunction with other acne fighting products (i.e. salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide), it has significantly cleared up my complexion and I plan on incorporating it into my nightly routine.

A Year of Foundations

Whether it’s full-coverage or sheer coverage, dewy or matte, it’s important to find what works best for you. I was looking to purchase a refill of my usual Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, when I came across Nars’s tinted moisturizer ad decided to give it a try. It does however, have a very natural finish and is easy to blend (I generally just use my hands and finish it off with a beauty sponge). This beauty balm provides sheer to light coverage, a natural finish, and several skincare benefits and anti-aging properties.
