making tissue holders

Pick out fabrics in a range of colours and separate into 2 piles – 1 for outer fabrics and 1 for lining fabrics (which gives you the thin edge on either side of the opening). Cut the smaller piece – 6 1/2 x 5 1/2 from your favourite pile – these will be the outer fabrics. Since this is for the school mothers day stall we are putting them with a packet of mum hankies for $5 and also putting in presents for more than $5 to bulk up a few gift packs and I think we might even do 2 for $5 in a little cello bag with ribbon as a little last minute item because $5 gifts are the most popular.

getting to school on time

I was asked to write a blog post on getting to school on time for the Catholic Weekly and here it is. I do want to point out that not everything goes to plan and the week that this was published my eldest took my car keys to school and texted me at 8

straight back into routine!

I’ve got great plans this year for more craft in a cleaner craft room! The going rate in australia for a 2nd hand one seems around the $150 mark and I ended up in a bidding war and got to $170ish I still find driving a bit tricky as I don’t know where I’m going and the lanes seem narrower (as do the parking spots) and there are a few tight streets I drive down but I hope everything is going well for you and that you’ve all had a great start to the year.

lemon delicious in the thermomix

I love the good old classic recipes and tonight I introduced all 5 little ones to lemon delicious. Pour into a greased oven dish (I used one of my pretty pie dishes) and bake for about 25-30 minutes in a 150C/300F oven until it's starting to get golden on top. so I prefer to have mine a little underdone on the top in the centre (my oven is over 40 years old) and the perfect custard inside. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add in the juice, egg yolks, sifter flour and milk and combine.
