The photographs from this exercise are from this super fun shoot that my bestie Lauren and I shot together in her garage! The flowers, the gold frame I scored at Hobby Lobby for a whopping five bucks, Christi’s amazing personality (love her! ), the cute bottles, and the Edith Elan dresses we currently have in stock at Opal and June – everything just turned out perfect and I loved every second that we spent creating this simple set! For this shoot (that I like to call my Black Backdrop shoot – super creative, right? ! ) Finding balance between two stark contrasts can be insane to achieve in post processing and I loved watching my Hue of You students work on these!

I’ve met so many amazing couples in my thirty two years of living and, I’ll be real: Megan and Jon are one of the most authentic couples I have ever met in my entire life. It was wicked hot during Megan and Jon’s wedding and, when we got to Holland Barn for their reception, we realized that their beautiful Rick’s Bakery cake had melted! Megan and Jon laughed so hard at this (have I mentioned I love them? ) and their cake cutting was one for the books. The Atmosphere When Day Turned to Night I LOVE a good indoor / outdoor wedding reception (especially in summer! )

It’s another gorgeous spring day so let’s dial it back to last summer! The green trees, the fog, and Michaela + Johnny’s crazy yoga skills made such a fun morning and I’m super excited to share these peaceful photographs with y’all! I love when I get to shoot sessions that are slightly out of my norm (weddings, engagements, editorials, families, seniors, etc.) Here’s Michaela and Johnny, y’all!

I slept in, met my friends Steph Smith and Kristen Herrington for toast at Arsaga’s + hammocks + Mamaka Bowls (does it get more Fayetteville than this? ) Let’s throw it back to the very end of fall last year when I got to photograph Brittney and Vinny’s family photographs! These two are in such a fun stage of life – having two super young and super energetic boys is one of the best experiences in the universe and so love these fun family photographs of Brittney, Vinny, their adorable boys, and the most amazing fall light.
