Saluting Travel Heroes Who “Save the Day”

Nearly 65,000 travel advisors affiliated with  Travel Leaders Group, the largest travel agency organization in North America, continue during this coronavirus pandemic to serve travelers in extremely confusing, volatile, and unpredictable situations, just as they do throughout the year during hurricanes, health concerns and times of wedded bliss. In the entire history of our industry there has never been a more fitting time to celebrate National Travel Advisor Day to thank travel advisors for going above and beyond caring for their clients every single day,” said Travel Leaders Group J. D. O’Hara. On this National Travel Advisor Day, Travel Leaders Group and its companies, including ALTOUR, Andrew Harper, Protravel International, Tzell Travel Group, Nexion Travel Group and Travel Leaders Network, salute these advisors by retelling some of the heartwarming stories of how these talented individuals Tim was able to support travelers who were previously not clients of our agency in their time of need,” said owner Duane Jasper.

Travel Leaders Corporate Keeps Travel Advisors On The Payroll By Supporting Call Center Operation for Pandemic Response

Our corporate travel advisors are an extraordinary group of highly-trained customer service professionals who wanted to find additional ways to assist during this pandemic,” said Gabe Rizzi, President and Chief Sales Officer of Travel Leaders Corporate. Rather than furloughing our advisors, we found a great partner with AnswerNet.” AnswerNet, a 24/7 call center services company, had a need for professionals experienced with call center customer service, but able to work remotely. The advisors, equipped with a state-of-the-art telecommunications system, have received rigorous training to complement their skills and are now working to schedule necessary COVID-19 testing for New York State residents. To me, this program reinforces the tremendous value our employees bring to our organization and our customers.” For more information or to take advantage of Travel Leaders Corporate’s personalized service and cutting-edge corporate business travel solutions that provide a complete travel enrichment experience, email partnerships@tlcorporate.com or call 877-404-4173.

Travel Agents Fight to Stay Afloat Amid COVID-19 as SBA Fails to Provide Funds

The vast majority of travel advisors are small business owners operating in cities big and small in every state in this country, from Miami, Florida, to Tacoma, Washington, from New York City to San Francisco, and their businesses are hard hit because no one’s traveling right now,” said Roger E. Block, President of Travel Leaders Network. The survey results from participating Travel Leaders Network agency owners who addressed whether or not they applied for financial relief through the CARES Act or other financial relief programs, reveal a microcosm of many other small business owners whose businesses have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Approximately 60 percent of respondents applied for the SBA Disaster Loan and 98.9 percent had not receive funds, while 51 percent had applied for the SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan Emergency (EIDL) “Paycheck protection is desperately needed for travel advisors, who are in a commission-based business payable only after the date of travel, hampering the cash flow and the ability of agency owners to be able to afford to pay staff when people aren’t traveling,” Block added.
