They are for whenever you feel up to starting exercise after birth (and it’s probably best to wait until you’ve had your 6-8 week check before starting anything other than walking and pelvic floor exercises). The programme is set over 4 weeks, with several workouts per week. Each week in the Aaptiv trimester 4 programme there’s an elliptical (cross trainer) workout, a strength training session, outdoor walking/running, and a core session. Once you’ve completed the Aaptiv trimester 4 workouts, it’s time to move on to the stroller workouts, which can be done with your baby in the pram!
The age gap between Jacob and Henry is 2 years and 2 months. Not a ridiculously small age gap, but not a big one either
As a recipient of statutory maternity pay, I’ve been thinking about how to save money on our outgoings to make the financial side of maternity leave less stressful. I’ve spent some of my time off before the baby comes looking into simple money savings ways that I can easily slot into my lifestyle, without being too miserable or having to think about it too much. I saved us £9 per month on our gas and electricity—not exactly loads, but £108 a year in my pocket instead of the utility company’s. We definitely get our money’s worth over the year.
If you Google home birth, one of the top hits is a negative story from a woman who regrets giving birth at home. Two main studies that I’ve looked into have found that adverse outcomes for women are lower for planned home births than planned hospital births for those who have given birth before, and the risks to the baby are similar regardless of place of birth. From the reading I’ve done (I’m currently reading Your Baby, Your Birth* which is amazing), being relaxed is a key part of the birth process and I was not relaxed in the hospital at all. I’m hoping booking the home birth will get my nesting into overdrive, and the house will be spotless.
