Do you know what to do when you run into a moose? (Thankfully, this was at the @akwildlife so we didn't need to worry!) A lot of people know you might run into a bear, but moose can be territorial too!⁣ ...⁣ You want to be chatting loudly while you are hiking. Like bears, you can often scare them off before you even get close enough where it is a problem.⁣ ...⁣ However, if a moose does charge you, run away! Here are some tips to help you choose.⁣ ...⁣ 1. Know whether you will use your bag for shorter hikes or longer--you might need more space for longer trips.⁣ 2. If you are carrying heavy gear, a hip belt can be the best thing ever! It also makes carrying bear spray super easy.⁣ 3. Choose a bag with a good warranty so if you are using it a lot and it needs repairs, you're completely covered.⁣ 4. If you are in a place where it rains a lot, you might want to invest in a bag that comes with an included rain cover. Some daypacks do not come with these!⁣ ...⁣ I'm a huge @ospreypacks fan since they're lightweight but carry a lot. They also make sizes for people who are smaller like me!⁣ ...⁣ How about you? Which places have you visited where it was better to see things from the air? When we were recently in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, we knew that we wanted to get a an idea of the size of this park by taking a plane. ... We hopped on a flight with @coppervalleyair who were amazing guides and shared so much information about the park--as well as chairs and snacks so we could enjoy the views while relaxing. ... One of the things they mentioned that was so special about this 3-million acre park was that you could take backpacking trips out there for as long as you would like. It completely inspired Daniel and I to come back for our next Alaska adventure! ... How about you? How do you deal with the crowds at national parks? While Glacier will always be my number one, it has gotten so much more crowded than it used to be...and forget about Yellowstone!⁣ ...⁣ One thing I've been trying to do is visit some lesser-known national parks this year. Visitor centers and anything involving staff might be limited or closed.⁣ 2. Be on the lookout for hotel discounts since they are properly less filled and looking to keep business going.⁣ 3. Double check the weather--it might be hotter or colder than warmer and you'll need to pack appropriately.⁣ 4. What is a place that you weren't expecting to return to?
