When you're putting something out into the world, whether it's a blog, a digital product, a service, etc., you can often feel lost. It can be a lonely world. 🤎 Fortunately, Gerry and I have each other with Arner Adventures, but it's definitely an adventure; we have learned SO much along the way. 🤎 One of the people we've learned from is LA Dunn - @blackgirlseat, not just from a business standpoint, but from a health and lifestyle standpoint. I could not wait to hear LA speak today at @blogher Biz and my day was MADE to be able to meet her in person. What a light she is! I feel lighter and brighter just from being in her presence. 🤎 #sograteful

Today is #nationalmammographyday 💓 This morning, during Betty White's morning stroll, we took a different path. It was just before sunrise, and everything had a pink hue. Very apropos for the mood. 💓 We've probably all known someone who has had breast cancer, or we've been affected by breast cancer in some way. This past year my (shannon) life was shaken when I received the news of a very scary mammo. I had to have a biopsy, which I was terrified to have, and thankfully, all turned out fine. Link in bio for that blog post 👆🏼 I will now receive a mammo every 6 months to make sure the changes are normal, and stay on top of it. Thanks to mammography, lives are saved. 💓 If you're a women, 40+, or have a history of breast cancer, go get your mammo! Early prevention is key! Don't let fear keep you from doing something that will kill you. Let fear guide you towards overcoming challenges! 💓 "Being fearful is what makes us alive. Fear is my ultimate guide." @davidgoggins

Whether we are hiking, camping, on an adventure together, or solo, we want protection. #ad 🛡️ One of the security tools that we keep with us on our adventures is the @byrnanation HD. Today is #worldmentalhealthday 💚 It is a day to not just raise awareness for mental health, but to also share the message that mental health IS health. 💚 This year's theme is "Mental Health in an Unequal World," symbolizing gaps in treatment, similar to all aspects of health care. 💚 There are lots of ways you can participate, many ways that are very simple! We've included them in a new blog post - link in profile 👆🏼. 💚 Let's take care of ourselves, and each other.

It has been way too long. Betty White had a special request tonight for her serenading to slumberland. She wanted to hear, "Moon River" but not Audrey's version. She wanted a crooner version - Andy Williams-style, so we obliged. 🌛 On a rainy evening like this, the song choice was apropos. She's very cultured that way. 🐾

Who can calculate the orbit of his own soul?" -Oscar Wilde 💫 It was this quote, that I (Shannon) recall reading a few years ago, when I decided that continuing down this journey of life was worth the effort. Not only was it worth the effort, it was worth everything! Spending this life, experiencing all of the adventures that life presents, with Gerry and Betty White, and those I love, is worth everything! ♥️ No matter how many steps it takes, up or down, it's all worth it. I promise! The final mystery is oneself, and that mystery is worth solving, even if it takes the rest of your life to do it, and what an adventurous ride it has and I hope it will continue to be! 👐 That Oscar Wilde really knew his stuff!
