🏠 E X T E R I O R 🧱 Phase 1 of project “Exterior Revamp” is complete! I absolutely LOVE how refreshed our home looks, and all it took was a coat of @romabio Limewash, a small rag, some water, a 6-inch masonry brush, and a whole lot of hard work! Yep, you read that right; I painted my entire home with only a brush 😬! 🌟 cue the 😨 🌟 I learned a lot, and there were some long tiring days, but I’m so happy at what I accomplished! One of my biggest drivers in anything I do is when people doubt me and my abilities. As far as I can remember, even as a child, the words that lit a fire in me were “You can’t do it” or “No, we’ll let the guys handle that.” In my head, I couldn’t understand why people doubted my abilities or why certain tasks were only for men to handle. Those words pushed me to not only prove to myself that they were false but also to prove to others NEVER to doubt the abilities of a woman! My husband head learned throughout our marriage to never doubt what I can do, and he’s become one of my biggest cheerleaders! This is what the “during” looks like before you get to see all those beautiful, aesthetically pleasing photos. ⁣ ⁣ I got some help today from my stepdaughter @amiga.empire! Hoping for another beautiful day tomorrow so we can finish up! Now excuse me while I take a long hot shower and put these clothes in the washer so I can use them again tomorrow, now reason to ruin another set of clothes 😬

😉 Say hello to my little friend 😉 Today is the first time in my 13 years of being a momma that I actually finished a whole cup of coffee *or two*, and it was warm until the LAST drop! Thanks @ember for this amazing mug! Goodbye to the days where I pushed through drinking cold coffee after 20 minutes because I was too busy doing ALL the mom things in the morning and then leaving 1/2 of my coffee in the mug because it was too cold to drink. HELLO, 2021, where my coffee will be nice and warm from beginning to end, even if it takes me 1.5 hours to get there!! 😆 Now to save up for the @ember travel mug so this nurse doesn’t drink cold coffee after getting change of shift report! Here’s to saying 👋 to 2020, so much has gone on, some days were hard. Still, others were memorable. If 2020 has taught me anything, it’s to embrace life and live in the moment. ⁣ ⁣ I’m so blessed to have found my passion in 2020, and even more so found a community that embraces me for me, even in all of my quirkiness! Here’s to 2021, and I’m so excited to grow with you guys and change the IG world of DIY, woodworking, and Home Decor to represent women like me and inspire you guys to be fearless and tackle those projects which may seem daunting! ⁣ ⁣ I started 2020 with 630 of you guys, and I’m ending 2020 with almost 3,000 😬 like 😳 🤯!! ❤️ M O M M Y H O O D ❤️ ⁣ ⁣ Initially, I was going to post about my Pressure washer dilemma this morning and how grateful I was that I have amazing parents that always save the day...thanks, Dad, for letting me borrow your dinosaur looking pressure washer that runs like a BEAST! ⁣ ⁣ Then...this happened...I often get asked, “How do you do it all?” The fact of the matter is I don’t. I have a housekeeper that comes to my home once a week and does our laundry (that’s one huge thing off my plate). I’m a nurse at our local hospital, so I only work 2, maybe 3 days a week. Cue 4-5 days to do all the things! My husband works in the Oilfield and is usually gone 2-3 weeks and home 1-2 weeks on a rotation. Yes, I’m on my own during that time, and it’s hard for me to ask for help. ⁣ ⁣ However, in all the chaos that goes on in my life, my Littles, aka my kids, are what keep me sane. Here I am trying to take a pic for today’s post, and my baby Rayne runs to me, and all she wanted was mommy. ⁣ ⁣ So check out my wall; it’s coming out pretty cool once I distressed it with the pressure washer, but my favorite part about this picture is me just being Mommy!⁣ ⁣ Paint used: @romabiopaints Classico Limewash in the color Avorio White! ⁣

🏠 E X T E R I O R D I Y 🏠 Now that the holidays are over, I can finally start a project I’ve been planning since we bought the house 15 months ago! When we first bought our home, I knew that one of the main things I wanted to do was paint the brick of our house; at first, I thought about hiring it out, but the thought of spending $8,000 - $10,000 held me back. As I started to get more comfortable with my DIY skills, I decided to tackle this project on my own! Fast forward a few months, and I come across a post by @ourfauxfarmhouse and a lime wash they used to paint their home and give it a more vintage and unique look. When I re-did part of the wall in my husband's outdoor kitchen, I was so excited that @romabiopaints reached out to me and offered to send me the rest of the paint for my home! To say that I was elated is an understatement! Today I finished one of the many walls in my exterior, and our home is already looking so much better and refreshed! I can’t wait to wake back up tomorrow and continue with the rest of the house! Full disclaimer here: having my kids home for winter break is seriously the best, but I honestly work so much slower when they’re home all day. When I first saw this antique table at @oldworldantieks, I knew it had to come home with us. It totally fit my personal design style. The antique style was not overwhelming, and it still had some of the modern rustic vibes that just speaks to my inner @joannagaines. It’s taken me a bit to figure out how to style this beautiful piece. However, as the season's change and I gain more confidence in myself, I find it easier to visualize what I want and just make it happen. These galvanized houses were the perfect look for an understated and more modern take on a Christmas Village. H A P P Y 🎄 M O N D A Y ! ! Not all the trees in our home are aesthetically “perfect,” and that’s okay. This Christmas tree, for example, doesn’t have the beautiful overflow of filler ribbon or one specific theme that ties it all together. However, out of all 6 trees in our home, this is the one that I can stare at all day, every day. That’s because this tree holds more sentimental value than anything. This tree holds all of the ornaments that my children have made over the years; it also holds the ornaments that I have them pick out every year that speaks to their personalities that specific year. Honestly, I think I might have lost some of the handmade ornaments during our moves, and I might have forgotten to have the girls pick out ornaments on at least 2 occasions, but that’s okay! You don’t have to be a perfect Instagram or Pinterest mom; the important thing is that you at least try to create the best memories with your family, and at the end of the day, the fact that you tried means more to our littles than we can even imagine!
