Two layers of soft white cake, a TON of pineapple filling and a white fluffy cloud of frosting. It took more than a gallon of the good stuff to cover the star-spangled banana cake and I made some 7-minute frosting to cover some oatmeal creme pie bars I made. In the end, I did have a few tiny specks of pineapple pull through the frosting, but it was only after I really messed with the frosting trying to decide what final look to go for. We are normally a buttercream or chocolate frosting family, so it was fun to hear people talk about the frosting and try to decide what was in there.
This all in one meal is a delicious combination of ham, pasta, peas and just enough creamy Parmesan cheese sauce. It is a great way to use up some leftover ham and turn it into a comforting and delicious meal! This Simple Pasta with Peas, Ham and Cream would be a delicious way to use some of those Easter leftovers. To me the sweet fresh flavor of the peas and the salty savory ham should shine and not be masked by too much cream and cheese.
Rich and moist chocolate mayonnaise cake with simple chocolate frosting in a smaller size. This recipe is the perfect amount to make a one layer 9" cake and enough chocolate frosting to top it. It doesn't taste like coffee, it just gives the chocolate a nice boost. If you have never tried a chocolate mayonnaise cake, this seems like the perfect time to give it a go.
