While we have been revamping, rebranding, and gearing up for the busiest time of year, “Summer”, our most exciting DS2 design news is: we wrapped on the highly anticipated restaurant project, that is already loved and adored by the local community, Green Acres. This project took almost 2 years to completely build out, they broke ground last year, and started design concepts in 2016! We got to design and collaborate on this one with RM Designs, the architecture firm (fun side note: We got to experience it from start to finish, from the real early planning concepts, to breaking ground, building out, and finally the finished details.
You may have noticed the recently-added shopping feature, which allows customers to purchase from sellers via the app– but we shouldn’t expect these changes to end there. According to executives, Instagram users can expect scheduling features similar to Yelp and OpenTable within the next few months– an addition which would supply businesses with invaluable consumer data. The update also promises contact features to connect prospective customers with companies; and potentially, the ability for users to rate, review and recommend experiences to other potential customers.
Design Studio Squared is officially 4 years old now! It’s crazy to think how fast the past few years have flown by. Design Studio Squared has been blessed with new staff, new projects, a new site and a new optimism for the years to come. In this post, we hope to update you on the changes happening here at DS2 and reflect on some of the experiences we have shared as a design firm and corporate family.
It’s true: Working in an open office, group-centrist setting can facilitate a smoother collaborative effort when brainstorming new ideas and processing information. Without walls separating the individual hands and minds of a company, employees can more effectively communicate and work together toward a common goal– business success and productivity. By tearing down the walls winch separate employees, open work spaces use proximity to push productivity. With no hierarchy of office space privilege or literal boundary lines between workers– you can effectively create a family-room, unitary vibe within your space.
