This skin-loving DIY milk and honey floral bath soak is moisturizing, soothing and incredibly appealing to the senses. Powdered milk and honey deeply hydrate dry skin, while organic flower petals provide aromatherapy and luxury to your bath experience. Lactic acid has exfoliating properties, but only when used at a low pH. When added to bathwater, lactic acid instead acts as a natural humectant that helps to hydrate and soften the skin. If you’re vegan or allergic to dairy, you can also substitute the powdered milk for organic coconut milk powder.
However, it’s unlikely this scrub will remain on your skin long enough to offer the same benefits as a skin care product containing glycolic acid (such as this natural glycolic peel). If you live in a hot or humid area, or if you’re using this scrub in the summer months, you can substitute the fractionated coconut oil with regular coconut oil. Like regular coconut oil, fractionated coconut oil is made of saturated fatty acids. If you don’t have fractionated coconut oil on hand or don’t want to purchase it for this recipe, you can always substitute it for a monounsaturated oil like cold-pressed olive oil, avocado oil or camellia oil.
This natural DIY glass cleaner is made without toxic rubbing alcohol. Why we don’t use rubbing alcohol in our DIY glass cleaner I’ve seen numerous DIY cleaning recipes that include rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol). Yes, it’s cheaper than gin or vodka, but if your main goal is to clean without toxins, then I’d recommend skipping the rubbing alcohol in your cleaning products. As well, lemon essential oil is both a natural degreaser and a natural air freshener, so it’s perfect for non-toxic cleaning.
